Festo is an early seed potato variety (maturity 7 — early) with an oval tuber shape, pale yellow skin and pale yellow flesh. It is a firm-cooking A–AB table potato, specifically suited as a table and salad potato. High tuber count (11–15 per plant), good uniformity and good storability.

Festo and Obama are both seed potato varieties represented by STAMAGRI BV. Festo is specifically a firm-cooking table and salad potato for the European market — not suitable for fries or crisps. Obama is more broadly applicable: early, wide climate adaptability, suitable for Mediterranean and subtropical climates, also suitable for early home fries. Both are NAK-certified.

Festo has excellent heat tolerance (7.5 — little sensitive) and reasonable drought tolerance (6.5 — moderate sensitive). This makes the variety suitable for cultivation in warmer European climate zones where many other early varieties fall short.

Festo is immune to wart disease (physio 1) and resistant to potato cyst nematode (Ro1, Ro4). It is also little susceptible to Alternaria, spraing, internal bruising and secondary growth. Festo is susceptible to late blight (both foliage and tuber, score 5) so requires standard foliage protection during cultivation.

Festo has a long dormancy (score 7) and discolouration of 8 (no discolouration). Combined with the underwater weight of 350 and dry matter of 19.21%, this provides good storability — suitable for longer storage and transport, including export within Europe.
